Funeral Rites For Mahlon F. PARSONS At Muscatine

Funeral services for Mahlon F. PARSONS, 77, of 715 Leroy St., Muscatine, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Gillett officicated. Mrs. Floyd Scott was organist.

Casket bearers were Louis REDDICK, Arthur REDDICK, Richard Shellabarger and Bill Snyder. burial was in Letts Cemetery.

Mr. PARSONS died Saturday, June 20, 1970, at his home.

A son of David and Olive CURTIS-PARSONS, he was born November 9, 1892 at Letts. He had resided in Muscatine 50 years.

Mahlon F. PARSONS first married Lois McCOLM September 3, 1921, at Muscatine. He later married Helen GRENSING, October 9, 1966 at Muscatine. He attended the First Baptist Church.

Mr. PARSONS was a member of the American Legion. He had formerly been employed at the Letts Savings Bank, the American Savings Bank of Muscatine and the Muscatine Bank and Trust Co. of Muscatine and also the Huttig Manufacturing Co.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Helen PARSONS; one daughter, Mrs. Herman GRIESENBROCK Jr., Macomb, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Laura REDDICK, Davenprot, on grandchild and one great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lois, his parents, one brother and two sisters.
