William MURPHY Died At Washington

William MURPHY, 95, of 621 East Washington Street died Saturday, Jue 26, 1965 at the Washington County hospital. He had been failing in health for several months, due to advanced age.

The funeral was Monday at 1 p.m. in the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. S. C. Picken in charge. Burial was in Ainsworth cemetery.

Mr. MURPHY was born September 8, 1869 in Ireland, a son of Thomas and Jane UPTON-MURPHY. He was married February 17, 1897 in Monmouth, Illinois to Elizabeth HAMILTON-CARSON. She died December 18, 1964.

They lived on a farm near Ainsworth until retiring and moving to Washington in 1944.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church and the last of a family of five children.

Survivors are these children: William R. MURPHY and Mrs. Earl Steele of Washington, Samuel T. MURPHY, Columbus Junction, James H. MURPHY of Wellman and Mrs. Floyd Martin of Ainsworth; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
