PAULINE F. MCCHESNEY

Graveside services for Pauline Farr McChesney, 72, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Angelus Memorial Park with Deacon Felix McGuire of St. Benedict's Catholic Church officiating. A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Memorial Chapel with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. McChesney died Oct. 6 in Burlington, Iowa.

Born Nov. 24, 1912 in Wapello, Iowa, she came to Alaska from Arizona in 1951 with her husband, George "Red" Farr, who died in 1957. She then worked for the Anchorage School District as a baker. Mrs. McChesney was active in the Older Persons Action Group, Commonwealth North, the Alaska Miners Association and the Anchorage Republican Women's Club, where she was named Outstanding Republican Woman in 1976. In February 1983 she married Rex McChesney, a long- time friend from Wapello, Iowa.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Daniel Farr of Anchorage; her daughter, Doris Harold of Mount Vernon, Wash.; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
