Tuesday afternoon, June 20th, at the German M.E. parsonage in this city occurred the marriage of Miss Lucile Paris to Mr. George B. Cocklin, Rev. David Froeschle performing the ceremony. Their marriage having been kept a secret was a complete surprise to their many friends.

The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Paris, residing in Port Louisa township, where she was born and raised. She graduated from the Wapello high school in the class of 1907 and the last three years has taught the Beik district school near Grandview, where she gave perfect satisfaction and was loved by her pupils. She is one of our most popular young ladies and is admired and respected by all who know her.

The groom is the son of Clinton Cocklin, residing near Grandview, and is a prominent young farmer. He is a number one young man, quiet and industrious and deserving of the bride he has won.

They will make their future home on a farm near Grandview. The Repulblican joins with their many friends in best wishes for a bright and happy future.
