At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jasper J. Williams, one-half mile south of Grandview, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Miss Edna, to Mr. William Edward Schweitzer, of Grandview, Wednesday, May 19, 1909, at one o'clock p.m., the ceremony being performed by Rev. J.E. Newsom, of Wapello.

The splendid home was tastefully decorated. The occasion, elaborate throughout in detail, was fitting and beautiful. The thought, care and sacredness evidenced in the preparation for the taking of the vows filled the spoken words with richness and impressiveness.

Promptly at one o'closck Miss Ethel Browning took her place at the piano and the Misses Shellabarger and Webster took positions, one at each side of the double doorway leading to the parlor, bearing loosely in hand a strip of white ribbon, one end of which she attached to her side of the doorway. As Mendelson's wedding march was being rendered the bridal procession leisurely descended the open stairway through the hall leading to the parleor, from thence preceded by the young ladies bearing their white ribbons, separating the assembled guests to form a passage way through which the wedding party might approach the opposite corner of the parlor, beautifully adorned with green and white floral decorations. The groom, preceded by the minister, was accompanied by Mr. Harold Williams, brother of the bride. Following them were Miss Evelyn C. Riley and Miss Leila Lieberknecht, and lastly the bride attired in white silk and bridal veil, approached with queenly bearing. She was joined by the groom and stepping forward together, completing the bridal group, they stood in silence until the climacteric closing of the music had ended, when the entire ritual of marriage ceremony of the Methodist Episcopal church was spoken, each participant giving his or her part in full from memory, with the addition of the impressive words from the book of Ruth, "Whither thou goeth I will go, and where thou lodgest I will lodge; thy people shall be my people, and thy God, my God."

Following the congratulations all repaired to the spacious dining room where a sumptuous dinner was partaken. The Misses Nettie Teets,
