There was quite a bit of intense excitement Saturday evening as Mr. and Mrs. Gavin Crow and daughter Marie, were coming to town. When nearing the eastern approach to the bridge over the river, their horse became frightened at some boys, and turning around suddenly, started to run, Mr. Crow attempted to hold the frightened animal, but was unable to do so and it ran into a road machine, upsetting the buggy and throwing Mr. Crow out. But he held onto the lines and was dragged some distance before he let go of them. Finding that his wife and daughter, while bruised considerably, were not seriously hurt, he started after the horse, which he found near the home of T.C. Murphy. After the harness had been removed the animial gave a groan or two and sank to the ground dead.

Mrs. Crow does not know how she and Marie got out of the buggy, the top being up at the time and feel very thankful that the accident was no worse, as they might all have been killed.
