The sale of the land of the John Sherman Jackson Estate held recently at Grandview was a success from every standpoint. John Beik purchased the 80 acre tract for $200.00 an acre, a total of $16,000. Sherman Jackson paid the top price of $202.50 for the 57 acres on which the house is located, a total of $11,532.20. Sherman Jackson also purchased the 60 acres of brush land for $47.00 per acre, a total of $2820.00. All of this land adjoins the town of Grandview on the east. Col. Will C. Smith, of east of Wapello, cried the sale.
