Davenport, Ia., April 25. - Walter Garrett of Wapello, who was convicted in the United States district court, at Davenport last week, on two counts of white slavery was sentenced to serve six years at federal penitentiary at Fort Leavenworth by Judge M.J. Wade yesterday. Garrett received three years on the first count on which he was convicted and one year on the second. He pleaded guilty to two counts in a second indictment, also charging him with white slavery. The second indictment contained four counts, two of the counts, however, being dismissed. He was given a year on each of the two counts in the second indictment, making the total length of the sentence six years.
