Flames totally destroyed the home and furniture of Mrs. Cynthia Pallet at Grandview, Saturday afternoon about 4:30 o'clock. Mrs. Pallet's loss is estimated at about $1,000 and the insurance carried amounts to $700. James Pallet, a son who resided on the first floor of the building managed to save his furniture. While the exact origin of the fire is not known, it is thought that it started when Mrs. Pallet dropped a lighted match while in the attic. Mrs. Pallet is the mother of Mrs. Lucy Kent and Mrs. John Giessregen, of this city.
