S. H. McGill, living on the Walter Johnston farm over on the Mississippi river bottom east of Wapello, had his house and all contents destroyed by fire Wednesday of last week. The fire caught in the roof in some manner unknown to Mr. McGill. He had left the house a short time before and gone to the field to work. When returning in a short time the building was all in flames. He had $400 insurance on the building and $100 on contents.
