WED AT NOON YESTERDAY

Miss Leila Leiberknecht and Harold Williams Married.

POPULAR YOUNG PEOPLE

Ceremony Took Place Wednesday, October 13, at High Noon - Both Bride and Groom are Well and Favorably Known Here.

Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1909, at the beautiful country home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Jacob Leiberknecht in Grandview township, occurred the marriage of her daughter, Miss Leila Mabel, to Harold R. Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Williams, of near Grandview.

At high noon, the appointed hour, Mrs. Wm. Schweitzer, the groom's sister, sweetly rendered the old familiar strains of "Annie Laurie." Following this the bride's sister, Miss Ruby Lieberknecht, played the wedding march as the parties took their places beneath an arch of white satin ribbon and smilax, festooned with autumn leaves. The ring ceremony was used by Rev. Barker who performed the ceremony in the presence of a large company of relatives and friends of the contracting parties.

The bride was beautiful in a princess gown of cream satin and chiffon, trimmed with insertion, studded with pearls, with a long bridal veil of net. She is all that is good and gracious in the esteem and affections of her relatives and friends and is highly thought of by all who know her and esteemed for her lovely character and sweet disposition. She is a graduate of the Columbus Junction high school in the class of 1906, with the honors of the class, with whom and her teachers she was a great favorite. She attended Cornell college at Mt. Vernon one year following her high school course.

The groom is a graduate of the Iowa State College of Agriculture at Ames and is an educated, practical, progressive farmer, in every way worthy, by birth and training, of the bride he has won. Both belong to the most highly respected families in Grandview township.

A four course dinner was served in the dining room which was tastefully decorated with similax and fall roses. Five cousins served as waiters-Misses Mae Leiberknecht, Pearl Pantle, Lola, Mable and Inez Wiederrecht. Those from a distance were H. Okert, of Monmouth, Ill., C. Blauer, North Dakota; Mrs. J. Dankert and Mrs. Wm. Steimler, of Muscatine; May Leiberknecht, from Grinnell, Iowa; Lola and Vernon Wiederrecht, from Mt. Vernon, Iowa.

The young people departed from Wapello the same evening for Kansas City where they will visit friends of the groom. Returning they will be at home on the large farm belonging to the groom's father. The REPUBLICAN gladly joins in the congratulations and rejoicings.
