REED-COON NUPTIALS TAKE PLACE THIS MORNING AT 9:45.

An interesting nuptial event was solemnized this morning, when Miss Violetta Reed, of Fruitland, became the bride of Charles Coon, at the Thomas Irwin home on East Fifth street. The ceremony was solemnized promptly at the appointed hour, 9:45 o'clock, in the presence of a company of the immediate relatives composed of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Coon, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Coon, Mrs. Rosetta Coon, mother of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Silas Reed, of Fruitland, parents of the bride, Miss Cassie Reed, sister of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. V.B. Fraze, Miss Grace Irwin and Earl Irwin. Dr. J.N. Elliott, pastor of the First Presbyterian church performed the ceremony, which was very simple. There were no attendants, and the bride was attired in a handsome and becoming gown of white silk with trimmings of lace.

Mr. and Mrs. Coon, together with their friends, Mr. and Mrs. V.B. Fraze, departed this morning on the Firefly for the tri-cities and other points to be gone the remainder of the week.

The bridal couple will be at home after the first of the month at a newly furnished home at 702 East Fifth street.

Their hosts of friends both of the city and county will at this time extend to them their best wishes and congratulations. The groom has for some time been employed as one of the most efficient motormen of the Citizen's Railway and Light company. He has made his home in Muscatine during his entire life and is a graduate of the high school. His bride is a charming young woman with a large circle of friends. She is a graduate of the Leverich Normal school and has spent several years teaching in the vicinity of her home in Fruitland, and also in Missouri.

The bride has been the honoree at a number of delightful prenuptial affairs during the past few weeks. Numbered among the most enjoyable was the miscellaneous shower held at the home of Mrs. Edwin Kemp, near Grandview, Thursday afternoon of last week. The ornamentation for the event was displayed in pink and white, and the company of friends entertained numbered about seventy-five. The guest of honor was the recipient of innumerable presents on this occasion.
