FIRE AT ELRICK

The round house of the M. N. & S. Railroad at Elrick was consumed by fire Tuesday forenoon, together with about a carload of coal, some tools and other articles.

The fire was caused by a bucket of tar on the stove exploding. Mr. Bevans and his section crew had gone down in the morning to paint the smoke stack on the round house with tar. A bucket containing the tar was placed on the stove to heart. The men were on the outside when they heard a loud report, and rushing to the door they found the inside filled with fire and smoke. Their overcoats and dinner pails were inside, but they were unable to enter the building and get them.
