He was married to Miss Charlotte VanDyke Sept. 21, 1886 and to this union three children were born; Calvin A. of Newhall; Mrs. Mary Harger of Center Point, and Oral of Shellsburg. Mrs. Williams was called to her reward in the spring of 1894 leaving Mr. Williams with the care of three small children.
On Feb. 17, 1897 he was married to Miss Bertha Soden. To this union were born seven children, Claude C. now in the U.S. Navy serving on the Battleship Idaho. Nettie, James, Velma, Lucille, Leola and Lloyd all at home. Beside these he leaves to mourn his absence, a devoted wife, two grand children, Claire and Ray Harger, one sister, Mrs. E. Strawhacker and two brothers, John E. of Havelock and James A. of Shellsburg.
Mr. Williams with his family came to Palo sixteen years ago and took charge of the railroad section crew, which position he held until obliged to cease work on account of his last sickness in March of the present year.
Naturally of a quiet disposition and a great home man he was highly esteemed in the neighborhood.
Many relatives and neighbors will miss him greatly and all extend a hand of sympathy to the bereaved family."
