Rites Friday for Eugene Miller
Eugene A. Miller, 72, a retired farmer and longtime Blairs Ferry road resident, died Tuesday in a Cedar Rapids hospital. He had resided at 555 Twenty-first street, Marion, for the last year.

Mr. Miller was born Oct. 29, 1892, on a farm near Atkins. He was married to Veva Hammond of Urbana on Nov. 29, 1916, at Cedar Rapids. The Millers farmed near Toddville until retiring in 1949 when they moved to Blairs Ferry road. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church of Spencer's Grove, near Walker.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, La Verne E., Donald A., and Richard N., all of Cedar Rapids; four daughters, Mrs. Dean Lyon and Mrs. Myron Spicer of Marion, Leila Brennaman of Cedar Rapids and Doris Lientz of San Francisco; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edmund of Wynnwood, PA., and Ralph of White Bear Lake, Minn., and five sisters Mrs. Ewen Miller of Independence, Mrs. Earl Stewart of Jesup, Mrs. Marion Grubbs of Center Point, Norma Scholz of White Bear Lake, Minn., and Alvena Miller of Miami, Fla.

Services: Friday at 10 a.m. at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. James J. McBride. Burial: Shiloh cemetery. Rosary will be recited Thursday at 8 p.m. at the chapel. Friends may call at the chapel Wednesday at 6 p.m.
