Charlene Ann Duffy, 83 of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at Stoney Point Meadows Assisted Living Center following a short illness.

Funeral Mass: 10 a.m.

Friday at St. Pius X Catholic Church by the Rev.

Jon Seda. Burial: Mt.

Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home.

Those not attending the Rosary may visit with the family from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Thursday and on Friday at the church after 9 a.m.

Charlene is survived by her daughters, Jan (Kevin) Schneider and Pat (Steve) Bouska, both of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, John, Erin (Sam) Sieh and Caitlin (Shane) Herder; great-grandson, Brooks Sieh; great-grandbaby, Herder, due in March; sister, Marjorie Strabala of Iowa City; sister-in-law, Marilyn (Alvin) Moeller of Marion; and nieces and nephews, the Harringtons: Teri, Mike, Cathleen and Colleen, the Powries: Kevin, Kim, Kelly and John, the Schropps: Lloyd Richard, Pam, Larry, Penny, Paula and John, the Moellers: Mark, Matt, Mary, Mickey Rasley, Cindy Eckrich and Doug Strabala. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, in 2012; brother, Stanley Eckrich; brothers and sisters-in-law, Nadine (Horace) Rasley, Peggy

(Jim) Harrington, James (Carolyn) Duffy, Colleen (Lloyd) Schropp and Kaye (Mike) Powrie; father and mother-in-law, L. Earl and Margaret Raher Duffy; nephew, Dennis Harrington; and niece, Maureen Harrington.

Charlene was born on Nov. 28, 1938, in Iowa City, the daughter of Percy and Helena Amelon Eckrich and grew up on a farm in Cosgrove. In 1957, she graduated from Cosgrove High School, where she played post guard in basketball and first base in softball. Charlene also like to go roller skating and dancing in high school and met her future husband at a dance in Williamsburg in 1957. She married John Duffy on April 12, 1958, at St.

Peter’s Catholic Church in Cosgrove. Charlene worked at Rockwell-Collins for 29 years, retiring in 1993.

Growing up, Charlene would go fishing with her best friend, Mary Ann. She liked listening to all different types of music and took great pleasure in baking and sewing. She enjoyed wintering in Phoenix (for 10 years), going to Las Vegas, and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Charlene loved her family and will be missed.
