Nancy E. Koestner, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died, Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Windmill Manor, Coralville following a long illness. Services: 1p.m., Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home by the Rev. John Flaherty. Burial: St. Patrick Cemetery, Fairfax. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday after 12 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home.
Nancy is survived by her son, Dan (Amy) Koestner of Grimes; two grandchildren, Emma and Nathan Koestner of Grimes; five siblings, Ed (Carla) Neuhaus of Cedar Rapids, Mark Neuhaus of Fairfax, Jean (Loren) Meredith, James (Laurie) Neuhaus all of Amana and Paul (Kim) Neuhaus of Walford; nine nieces and nephews, Eric, Logan, Joshua, Jennifer, Erin, Luke, Collin, Allison and Connor; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandson Benjamin Koestner.
Nancy was born on March 29, 1949 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of John “Jack” and Rose Caffrey Neuhaus. She grew up in Walford and graduated in 1967 from La Salle High School. She worked in the farm and sports departments at WMT Radio for 30 years and was a volunteer for many years at the Marion Arts Festival.
Nancy enjoyed gardening, going to garage sales, listening to music and attending music festivals. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye sports fan and took great pride in being one of the few women on press row at Iowa Hawkeye games doing statistics for Ron Gonder. Nancy loved family events and attending the activities of her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
