Frances Gaffney Easterla, 70 of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 25, 2022 at home following a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home by Penny Ackerman. Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home and after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Dan) Parker of Ellston; two sons, Chad (Lisa) Adams of Ankeny and Todd (Lori) Easterla of Muscatine; four brothers, Mike (Mary) Gaffney, Tim (Trish) Gaffney, C. Dennis (Amy) Gaffney, and Frank (Nancy) Gaffney; six sisters, Gloria McDowell, Mary (Bruce) Hayes, Regina (Terry) Weber, Susan (Jeff Hayes) Crowley, Linda (John) Miskew and Patricia Gaffney; six grandsons, Cory, Alex, Brady, Gavin, Brock, and Max; three granddaughters, Cassie, Morgan and Lexi; great-grandchildren, Everly, Hope, Eloise and Genevieve.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald; parents; brother, Jim Gaffney; and nieces, Kathleen Hayes and Rachel Weber.
Frances was born on September 4, 1951 in Lamont, daughter of James and Rita Flaucher Gaffney. She attended Lamont Elementary and graduated in 1969 from Starmont High School, Arlington. On November 8, 1969 Frances married David Adams; they later divorced. She married Ronald Easterla in Las Vegas on November 21, 1988. In 1975 Frances began her career as a telephone operator at Northwestern Bell and continued a career in the communication industry for over 30 years. She then became a pharmacy tech for Walmart until 2019.
Frances was an avid card player and Chicago Cubs fan. She liked going to the casino and traveling, but loved time with the grandkids the most. Frances was a wonderful person and will be missed deeply.
