Lavon D Maass Hampton, 79, passed away on May 26, 2022, at Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids, IA. She was born to Arthur and Marie Maass on August 10, 1942, in Algona, Iowa. A graveside service will be held at the LuVerne Cemetery on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 11:30, followed by a lunch at the United Methodist church.

Lavon graduated from LuVerne Community School with the class of 1960. She moved to Cedar Falls and was employed for many years at Control-O-Fax. In 2001 she was United in marriage to Jerry Hampton and moved to Cedar Rapids. Lavon was a care giver by nature and helped care for many people. She loved animals, especially her dog Bandit.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry of Cedar Rapids, IA; brothers, Marv (Julie) Maass of Webster City, IA; Bob (Leah) Maass of Ellsworth, IA; and her sister, MaeBelle (Ron) Powell of Ida Grove, IA. Stepchildren, Dan (Linda) Hampton of Galesville, WI; Tom (Lori) Hampton of Cedar Rapids IA; and Ann (David) Grant of Cedar Rapids, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
