April 29,2022, Bonny “Bon Bon” Erdahl (Legler), passed away at 71 after a brief illness, surrounded by her loved ones.

Bonny was born on May 30, 1950, in Mason City Iowa to Harold and Maxine (Urich) Erdahl. She grew up in Britt, Iowa and attended Garner Hayfield High School graduating in 1968. She went on to Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge Iowa where she enjoyed her involvement in Arts & Drama Clubs where she was casted in several productions. In 1975 she started working at Banco which later became GMAC Mortgage. While working there for many years she held various management roles. She made lifelong friendships that turned into extended family. Bonny had a sparkling personality that could light up a room. Her friends knew that the party would get good when Bonny arrived, but most would agree, don’t plan on her lighting up that room on time, because she was notoriously late. Bonny had a knack for “crafting”. She loved to bedazzle anything she made and enjoyed sharing them with others. She put the spark in sparkle. She loved all things from the 50-60’s Era, including poodle skirts and especially Buddy Holly. Her greatest joy in life was her daughter and granddaughter and spending time with them.

Bonny was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Maxine Erdahl, brother Richard Erdahl and infant sister. She will be sorely missed by her daughter Sarah Legler, granddaughter Schaefer, sister and husband Judy and Paul Kuehl, sister Marilou Erdahl, brother and wife Jerryand Janet Erdahl, brother and wife Tom and Julie Erdahl, nephews and nieces, and Godchild Thaddeus Erdahl.

A Celebration of Bonny’s life will be held on May 29th 2022, at 1:00 at Lofty’s Lounge, 3480 Lafayette Rd Evansdale, Iowa. We encourage everyone to wear bright colors in honor of Bonny’s fabulous sense of style.
