At 3 o'clock Sunday morning occurred the death of Mrs. Josephine Diet, wife of Vaclav DIte, in her home, 12?1 South Fourth street, east. Mrs. Dite had been ill for about two weeks.
Mrs. Dite was born in Bohemia 77 years ago. She came to this country 39 years ago, settling immediately in Cedar Rapids. Mrs. Dite was a woman of kindly disposition and a devoted wife and mother. Her home was the object of her painstaking attention. She reared her children to an appreciable state of culture and citizenship. Through her attention as wife and mother, the Dite home always was one of those that bring so much credit to Bohemian-Americans as domestic people. Mrs. DIte was a member of the C.S.P.S. and was held in high esteem by many friends. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Hans Smith and Miss Suzanne, and a son Joseph Dite, all of Cedar Rapids. The funeral was private and was held on the afternoon of Labor Day at 3:00 o'clock. Rev. Frank Pokorny of Ely conducting the services. Interment was in the Oak Hill cemetery.
