Daughter of Joseph Hansell and Hannah Leeka Hansell. Married John B. Hoag on Dec. 22, 1870 in Linn County, Iowa.

Marion Register Tuesday November 25, 1919
Mr. Wm. Hansell of Springfield, Missouri, has been a Marion visitor since Sunday. His sister, Mrs. Hoag, died at her home in Texas last week and was brought to Marion for burial. He is a son of the late Joseph Hansell. When a boy he was a passenger conductor on the Northwestern. He is now prominent in real estate business.

A short prayer service conducted by the Rev. Albert Hale Hanscom of the M.E. church, was held at the Margaret Pingrey chapel today at 11 a.m. for Mrs. Mary Hoag, who died Nov. 20 of apoplexy at the age of 72 years. Burial will be in the family lot in Oak Shade cemetery.
Mrs. Hoag was formerly Miss Mary Hansell and was born and reared in this city. She moved away from here several years ago and was in Dallas, Texas at the time of her death. He brother, William Hansell is here to attend the funeral.
