Orval "Sonny" Andrew Schrock Jr, 66, of Anamosa, died Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark., from complications of COVID-19 Pneumonia. Graveside Inurnment Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, at Dunkard Cemetery in Midway. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is serving the family.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie Schrock of Anamosa; sons, Derek Schrock of Center Point and Brandon (Randi) Schrock of Fayetteville, Ark.; daughter, Brynn Schrock of Anamosa; seven grandchildren, Hunter Schrock, Rylee Schrock, Ashlyn Willits, Easton Schrock, Aiden Schrock, Carter Schrock and Andrew Dye; two great-grandchildren, Willow Swangel and Paisley Schrock; brother, Terry (Marie) Schrock of Walker; and sisters, Alice (Curt) Stephenson of Central City and Kim Schrock of Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Sonny was born July 8, 1955, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Orval Andrew and Kathryn Joanne (Manholtz) Schrock. He attended Alburnett Community School. On Nov. 12, 1976, he married Vickie Lea Cornwell at the Toddville Free Methodist Church in Toddville. He retired after twenty-eight years with the City of Cedar Rapids Water Department. Following retirement, he and Vickie wintered in Arkansas where Sonny worked with his son Brandon.

Going to car shows, camping, taking road trips and what he referred to as "Scuffing Around" were a few of Sonny's favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed collecting die-cast muscle cars and tractors as well as mowing and maintaining the yard. Above all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, talking and telling stories. Sonny was also a man of many talents. He could build, manufacture, or repair almost anything and enjoyed teaching and doing things for others.
