Ormal Wayne Williams, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his children, Judy (Dennis) Bachman of Tucson, Ariz., Mike (Pam) Williams of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Cindy (Justin) LaPeer of Merida, Mexico, Kim (Simpson) Nguyen of Des Moines,

Iowa, Huong (Hai) Nguyen of Houston, Texas, Hieu (Gam) Nguyen of Des Moines, Iowa, Kristen Smith of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Diem Nguyen of Houston, Texas, Da (Phung) Nguyen of Joplin, Mo., and Van Pham of California; and many grandchildren, great-12.50grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are his sister, Elsie Hamilton and sisters-in-law, Sharon Wells and Frances Shenberger and Carol Shenberger.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his son, Ron; and his parents.

Ormal was born on Oct. 9, 1933, in Moberly, Mo., son of Ormal and Ada Maude Williams. He graduated from Princeton High School and relocated to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he met the love of his life, Pat. They were united in marriage on May 11, 1952. He worked at Iowa Manufacturing and for the Hiawatha Police Department during his working career.

Ormal loved his family and his church. He was a deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church and was involved in many Christian ministries at his church and within the community to include working with the homeless. He loved Jesus with all his heart and shared his faith with everybody he came in contact with. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all that knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Ormal's honor in the spring.
