Terry Alan Hull, 72, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021.

Terry was born on Oct. 16, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Nat and Wini (Riggs) Hull. Terry married Judy (Lawrance) Hull on Sept. 22, 1976, at Peace Christian Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This union welcomed one daughter, Tracie. He was a career employee at the United States Postal Service for 31 years, retiring in 2004.

He graduated from Washington High School and while at Wartburg College and then Coe College he was on a nationally ranked debate team, college radio host and tri-state racquetball champion doubles team. He enjoyed parachuting and reading. He had many collections including movies, depression glass, stamps, baseball cards, books and Hallmark ornaments. He enjoyed decorating for Christmas usually the planning started in the summer and the decorating started in September. Each year had a different theme. After retiring, he spent much of his time as an avid wildlife photographer around Cedar Lake, Noelridge Park and Brucemore. Many people at the lake and the parks would refer to him as "the old guy with the camera." He also spent many hours photographing his two granddaughters' soccer games. He would make sure he had pictures of all the team members and then share the photographs with the families.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Hull of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter, Tracie (Cory) Robinson of Toddville; mother, Wini Hull of Cedar Rapids; brother-in-law, Bill (Eliza) Lawrance of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Jean (Norm) Grimm of Marion, Jan Spencer of Texas, Kathy Lawrance of Cedar Rapids and Debbie Mullen of Cedar Rapids; and granddaughters, Tessa, and Libbie Werner of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his father; grandson, DJ Miell; parent-in-laws, George, and Velma Lawrance; and brother-in-law, John Mullen.

At his request, no service will be held. There will be a Celebration of Life at the small pavilion at the Shaver Road entrance of Cedar Lake from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed towards the family.
