Kevin Joel Kubly

I was born on August 21, 1963, in Lake City, Minnesota, the son of Larry and Carol (Rusher) Kubly.

I went home peacefully to be with my Lord and Savior on my birthday, August 21, 2021, surrounded by my family, after a seven-year battle with brain cancer. I leave behind my wife, Sherri (Paulsen) Kubly of Edgewood, Iowa. Sherri and I were married on February 10, 1996. I was blessed with four beautiful children and 10 amazing grandchildren: Tiffany (Ryan) Bunting (Lilly and Alexis) of Dundee, Jesse (Jessica) Hansel (Cooper and Quinn) of Frederick, Colorado, Michelle (Jerrad) Goedken (Evan, Ella, and Jaxon) of Strawberry Point, and Mitchell (Haley) Helle (Wesley, Georgia, and Eden) of Ryan.

I was the owner of TMK Construction for over 30 years. My passions have been my relationship with Jesus Christ, who is my personal Savior, spending time with my wife, kids, and grandkids, listening to music, drinking coffee, playing in the snow with family and friends, classic cars, and re-engineering anything, new or old. I checked off an item from my bucket list by going to the GoServ Global Orphanage in Haiti to help clean up after Hurricane Michael. I also volunteered for numerous other disaster clean-ups with GoServ Global and Samaritan’s Purse. Near the end of my earthly journey, I had the blessing of taking my grandkids to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum in Williamstown, Kentucky, another of my bucket list items.

In addition to my wife, children, and grandchildren, I also leave behind my parents, Larry and Carol Kubly of Edgewood; sisters, Carla (Larry) Hood of Manchester and Chris (Paul) Moser of Edgewood; and brother, Curt (Wanda) Kubly of Manchester. I am also survived by my former wife, Marilyn Atkinson of Manchester; mother-in-law, Benay Brys of Epworth; father-in-law, Dale Paulsen of Manchester; brothers-in-law, Michael (Tina) Paulsen of East Dubuque, Illinois, John (Tami) Loy of Glen Haven, Wisconsin, Bryan (Linda) Paulsen of Cuba City, Wisconsin, and Dale L. Paulsen of Manchester; sister-in-law, Cynthia L. (Kent) Kirch-Henderson of Queen Creek, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.

I was preceded in death by my grandparents, Melvin “Bud” and Jane Kubly of Laverne, Iowa, Mildred Furst of Lakefield, Minnesota, and Bob Rusher of South Dakota.
