VIOLA - Funeral service for Harry Marcus Newhard, 56, who died of a heart attack Monday afternoon, was held in Viola Methodist church Thursday, March 20, at 2 p.m. Rev. Harold Hewitt, pastor, officiated. Burial was in Wilcox cemetery.

Mr. Newhard was born May 25, 1890, in Jones county and always lived in Linn and Jones counties. He was a veteran of World War I.

He is survived by his wife, the former Grace Hickman; a step-daughter, Mrs. Edith Bartlett, Monticello; five brothers, Eugene, Harl, Truman and Glenn Newhard, Anamosa, and Carl Newhard, Dayton, Ohio; and a sister, Mrs. Clarence Robinson, Springville.
