George Sherman Springer, 67, died at his home 1220 Sixth avenue southeast, at 2 a.m. today after a brief illness. He was born in Yorkville, Ill., Dec. 24, 1864, and came with his parents to Cedar Rapids when he was six weeks old. He had resided here since. He never married and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. James Howard, Mrs. Clarence Brewer, both of Cedar Rapids, and two brothers, R.J. Springer, residing on the Center Point road, and W.R. Springer of this city.
Funeral services will be held in the Lesinger-Polansky chapel at 10 a.m. Thursday conducted by the Rev. F.H. Ward. Burial will be in Linwood cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
