Arthur V. Cox, 65, of 1531 Bever avenue SE, a resident of Cedar Rapids for 40 years, died Saturday afternoon in a Cedar Rapids hospital.
Born Aug. 25, 1892 in Bevier, Mo., Mr. Cox had been an employe and foreman at the Universal Engineering Company in Cedar Rapids for 35 years.
He married Gladys Palmer Aug. 22, 1911 in Waterloo. She preceded him in death Feb. 9, 1945.
Mr. Cox was a member of Maine lodge I.O.O.F. No. 643, Cedar Rebekah lodge No. 494, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Forests of America.
Surviving are two brothers, Elmer Cox of Cedar Rapids and Russell Cox of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Alden Morehouse and Nellie Cox, both of Cedar Rapids, and one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Plotz of Cedar Rapids.
Services: Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Rohn funeral home. Burial: Cedar Memorial. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
