DORIS LORRAINE (SKOGEN) HITE

Doris Lorraine (Skogen) Hite, 92, passed away at her home at Garnett Place Retirement Community on Friday, May 21, 2021.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, May 25, at the Cedar Memorial Funeral Home, with Sharon Treloar of Serene Care Hospice officiating. Interment will be at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of Tranquility.

She is survived by three daughters, Linda McCaw of Fargo, N.D., Donna (Patrick) Servey of Louisville, Tenn., and Karla (David) Cliburn of Norway, Iowa; a brother, Donny Skogen of Johnstown, N.D.; her grandchildren, Tammy (Shawn) Fox, Michelle (Jeff) Bettels, Joseph (Melissa) and Jacob (Nancy) Servey, and Kegan (Lindsay), Chase, Corey (Erin) and Devri Cliburn; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers. Her husband of 59 years, Everett, passed away in 2010.

Doris was born on April 2, 1929, in Hettinger, N.D. She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Anna (Sangsland) Skogen. On Feb. 6, 1951, Doris married Everett J. Hite. Doris was employed by Universal Engineering Corp., and Aging Services, Inc., both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Peterson's Senior Health Services of Marion, Iowa.

Doris enjoyed her family, church, playing the piano, music, reading, quilting group at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, volunteering and helping others whenever they needed.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doris' name to Serene Care Hospice.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at both Garnett Place and Serene Care Hospice for all of the love and support they showed Doris while she was with them.
