Nella M. Landis, 78, of 1834 First Ave. NE died Tuesday of cancer at Mercy Hospital.

Nella Melton was born March 11, 1906, at Mechanicsville. She married to Clyde G. Landis on March 9, 1925, at Cedar Rapids. He died Jan. 25, 1982. She worked with her husband at Krall Shoes and later at Martin’s. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Ruth E. Arnott and Vera Mae Melton, both of Cedar Rapids.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Turner Chapel East by the Rev. Claude Jones of Westminister Presbyterian Church. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from noon to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday. The casket will be closed prior to services and not opened following.
