Edith Mae Travagiakis, 92, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s Living Center West in Cedar Rapids. A private funeral service will take place at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.

Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of facemasks or shields is required.

Edith was born on March 1, 1929 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Ishmael Hugh and Edith Mae (Krebs) Parry. She was united in marriage to Sam Travagiakis on January 7, 1953 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Edith retired as the Director of Reception at Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids in 1991. She was a member of the Cedar Auxiliary. Edith enjoyed sewing, cake decorating, and many crafts.

Survivors include her daughter Lisa Kennedy (Christopher) of Marion, grandchildren Ryan Kennedy (Emily) of Cedar Rapids, Kyle Kennedy of Muscatine, Amber Pappas (Michael) of North Carolina, Eric Travagiakis (Lindsay) of Cedar Rapids, Amy Cannon (Shawn) of Cedar Rapids, and Terence Travagiakis (Laura) of Cedar Rapids, five great grandchildren, and a special friend Cindy Travagiakis.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Sam in 2010, son Steven, and siblings Claudia Baker, James Parry, Elizabeth Gotchy, Genevieve, John Parry, Maxine Lange, and Irvin Parry.
