Evelyn M. Green, 87, a resident of Meth-Wick Manor the last five years, died Thursday. Born Feb. 11, 1883, in Birmingham, England, she was married Feb. 17, 1907, to the Rev. Harry D. Green in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Mrs. Green came to the U.S. in 1909 and lived in Minnesota and Iowa where the Rev. Mr. Green served as pastor of the Methodist churches in Coggon, Anamosa and Maquoketa. She had lived in the Marion-Cedar rapids area the last ten years.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Evelyn Green of Springfield, Ill., and Mrs. Robert Hanson of Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.; a son, the Rev. Merton B. Green of Sioux City; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Rose Taylor of Birmingham, England; and a brother, William Boswell of Nottingham, England.
Memorial services: 1:30 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist church in Marion by the Rev. Lloyd C. Kellams. Murdoch funeral home in Marion is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitations. Friends may, if they wish, contribute to Meth-Wick Manor.
