The Marion Register Friday July 10, 1903
Mrs. Amelia Granger was born in Lancaster county, Pa., June 29,m 1819 and died at Marion July 3, 1903. She came with her family to Iowa in 1853. When a girl of fourteen years she was confirmed in the Lutheran church but later united with the Methodist church, of which she has been a faithful member of nearly seventy years.
On January 26, 1875, she was married to Samuel Granger, who preceded her to the better land in 1882. She leaves surviving three sisters, Mrs. Showers of Madison, Wis.; Mrs. Bromwell of Marion, and one brother, Joseph Bonnell, of New Sharon, Pa. She lived a noble unselfish life and was ripe in good deed as well as years. Her funeral was held from the Methodist church at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, attended by many friends and neighbors, Rev. Evans delivering a discourse.
