Mr. Samuel D. Aurandt was born in Frankstown township, Pennyslvania, February 10, 1848 and died in Marion, Linn county, Iowa, Feb. 14, 1917, at the age of 69 years and 4 days, after a lingering illness of about one year. He was married to Anne E. Reep in Altoona, Blair county, Pa., April 7, 1872. To this union five children were born, of whom the mother and two children have passed on before him. His second marriage to Mrs. Elizabeth Miller in Marion, Linn county, Iowa, took place Nov. 30, 1893. Those now left to mourn his passing on are Mrs. Elizabeth Aurandt, widow; Mrs. Susie Rallsback of Ostego, Kas.; Mrs. Harry Harber of Des Moines and Wm. Reep of Marion and four sisters and one brother of Altoona, Pa. Funeral services were held at the home on west Fifth avenue, Friday, Feb. 16.
