Word has been received of the death of Herbert P. Crew, who dropped dead on the streets of Cushing, Okla., Saturday morning.
He was employed in the oil fields there. The son of John C. and Laura Crew, he was born June 2, 1881, on a farm north of Marion. His boyhood and early manhood were spent in Marion, where he received his schooling. He left Marion more than twenty-five years ago. He is survived by his wife and four children, Robert, Ada, Anna and Russell, all of Cedar Rapids; his mother, Mrs. Laura Crew, and one brother, Dr. A.E. Crew, of this city. The body will be brought to Marion for services and burial, arriving here probably Wednesday. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
