Funeral services were held at 2:30 this afternoon at the Yocom Funeral Home here for Pearson Cooper, 65 years old, who died at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon at Nelsonville, Ohio. Death was due to a heart attack.
Rev. Carl E. Krog of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church was in charge of the funeral services and interment was in Oak Shade cemetery. Mr. Cooper was a member of the Lutheran church at Marcellus Mich. Scores of friends of the deceased gathered to pay homage to a man who was loved and admired by all who knew him.
Born in Marcellus, Mich., in August, 1867, he came to Marion in 1902 as bridge foreman for the Milwaukee railroad. Four years ago he m oved to a farm in Ohio because of his ill health. His wife, Anna M. Cooper, preceded him in death six years ago. Charles Cooper of Marion is a son.
