Rosann Frances Nolte, 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, April 5, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital from complications of heart surgery. Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Jude Catholic Church by the Rev. Mark Murphy. Burial: St. Patrick and St. Paul Cemetery, Watkins. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Teahen Funeral Home. Per COVID-19 guidelines, attendees are required to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Rosann is survived her husband, Bill Sr.; five children, Bill Jr. (Kelly) Nolte of Atkins, Jody Nolte (Jeff Peters) of Boone, Don Nolte of Cedar Rapids, Joe (Joanne) Nolte of Des Moines and Steven Nolte of Cedar Rapids; grandsons, Kyle (Erica) Elliott, Lucas Nolte and Eddie Nolte; very special granddaughters, Olivia and Miranda Nolte; brother, Leo (Dorothy) Sonka of Clayton, Wis.; sister-in-law, Elaine Sonka of Albert Lea, Minn; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Nicholas Nolte; grandson, Spencer Nolte; and brother, Bob Sonka.

Rosann was born Oct. 15, 1944, in Norway, the daughter of Leo and Vera Brecht Sonka. She graduated from Norway High School in 1962. On April 15, 1967, she married William Donald Nolte at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Norway. Rosann worked as a medical transcriptionist for over 20 years with most of that time being at St. Luke's Pediatrics.

Rosann lived for time spent with her family. Her favorite title was "grandma." She loved making Christmas wreaths and goodies with her granddaughters. She liked baking and many people enjoyed her treats at the St. Jude Sweet Corn Festival. She was a big advocate for Catholic education, and the unborn.
