Mary P. Penn, 89, a former resident of Marion, died Tuesday at Keokuk County Hospital, Sigourney, following a short illness.
She was born Dec. 26, 1894, at Waubeek. Her first husband, Francis P. Foley, died in 1929. She married Irwin Penn Oct. 19, 1946. He died in 1977.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Marion.
Surviving are three sons, Vincent Foley, of Marion, Frank Folley of St. Louis, and Eugene Foley of San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Louise Evans of Las Vegas, Nev., Betty Gorius of Coralville and Doris Nelson, Baltimore; two sisters, Frances Burda of Rock Island, Texas, and Gertrude Holub of Prairieburg; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
Services: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church by the Rev. Robert Ferring. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the Murdoch Chapel, Marion, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
