Memorial
Maxine A. Drallmeier, 95, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday March 15, 2021 at West Ridge Care Center. Services: Private. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her sons, Gerald Batey of Marshalltown, Iowa and Lester Batey of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her step-children, Erika (Jay) Miller of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Marlene Jeffrey of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Doris (Dewane) Hughes of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her nieces, Bonnie Jones, Mary (Mike) Van Voltenburg all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and nephew, John Mc Donough of Florida. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and one on the way and 14 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Mervin Batey and Gerald Drallmeier, her brother, James Dutton and sister Ruth Mc Donough and her beloved girl dog, Neffie.

Maxine was born July 6, 1925 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Asa and Molly Dutton. She married Mervin Batey in 1950 in Cedar Rapids. He passed away in 1966. She then met and married Gerald Drallmeier. They were married in 1969 in Cedar Rapids. He passed away in 2004. Maxine worked for the Square D Company in Cedar Rapids for 28 years retiring in 1986. Maxine and Gerald enjoyed traveling the world together. She loved the Iowa Hawkeyes, reading and visiting various casinos. She was quick witted often coming up with hysterical thoughts and statements. Maxine enjoyed her summer days on her swing, and her time with her dog Neffie. No matter what, she always had a positive outlook on life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at West Ridge Care Center, and her neighbors, Bruce Ballard, Lyn White, Taylor Soeken and Nate Meyer and Rachel and Chad Ozburn for all the loving care they gave to Maxine.
