MAX FREEMAN WARREN
Hiawatha

Max Freeman Warren
went to be with his Lord and Savior Feb. 15, 2021. He was born on Aug. 19, 1938, in Ladora, Iowa to Willard and Ethel Warren. He married his wife Mary Plotz on Jan. 6, 1962. His working years were spent at Sears and Roebuck and later with General Mills.
Dad and Mom loved to go camping. They traveled to warmer climates, playing card games and meeting new people. He could make a new friend in the first five minutes that he met you. He knew his neighbors and they knew him. He loved to tinker. There always was another home project or three to add to the list as he crossed one off. Most evenings were ended with a phone call to his brother, Bob, to round out his day.
Pa loved his family. His goodbyes to his kids and grandkids were iconic. They began with the whiskery cheek peck, followed with a softly whispered "I love you" spoken into the ear, as you were being firmly embraced in a bear hug that spoke the words "see you again soon."
He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa, and he has left a large sized hole in all of our lives.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary; two sons, Terry (Ann) and Samuele (April); seven grandchildren, Joseph (Susan), Jessica (Michael), Nichole (James), Emilie, Daniel (Talia), Allison and Trevor and special friend, Anna; and nine great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert and two sisters, Helen and Doris.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard; mother, Ethel; his brother, Ray; and sisters, Dorothy and Elizabeth.
A private service will be held at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 4 to
6 p.m. for the public on Friday, March 19, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people allowed. The use of face masks or shields is required. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website under the obituary for Max Freeman Warren, under the video tab starting at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 20.
The family requests you make a donation to your charity of choice in Max's name in lieu of flowers.
