Funeral service for William C. Collmann, 70, who died Wednesday, June 5, at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a long illness, was held Saturday afternoon at the Castle Grove Lutheran church. Rev. H. A. Diers, pastor, was the officiating minister. Brief prayer service was held preceding the regular service at the Smykil Home for Funerals. Burial was made in Oakwood cemetery, Monticello.

William Conrad Collmann, son of Henry Conrad Collmann and his wife Ancke, ne Helgen, was born near LeMars in Plymouth county, Iowa. He was baptized when an infant and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev. F. S. Buenger at the Evangelical Lutheran church, Grant township, Plymouth county, Iowa, March 30, 1890.

He was married to Catherine Sophie Helgens by Rev. C. Mardorf at Wayne township, Jones county, Feb. 22, 1900. Six sons were born to the union. Mr. Collmann farmed all his life. In 1943 he bought a farm near Prairieburg where he lived until his death.

He always enjoyed good health until two years ago when he had pnuemonia, since when his health has been failing.

Surviving are his wife, six sons, Alville and Randolph, Prairieburg; Clarence, LeMars; Harry, Mankato, Minn.; Vernon, Arlington, Minn.; Fred Hopkinton; six grandchildren; three brothers, Louis, Hartly, Iowa; Henry, Akron, Iowa; Albert, LaMars, and three sisters, Mrs. Meta Theilen, LeMars; Mrs. Gertie Theilen, Clarksfield, Minn.; and Mrs. Emma Borchers, LeMars.
