Jeannine Eloise Chevalier, 85, of Cedar Rapids died on Monday, January 25, 2021 at her home from a sudden illness. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Teahen Funeral Home. Per Covid guidelines, attendees are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Jeannine is survived by her daughters, Deb (Mark) Prideaux of Marion and Judy (Spencer) Fuller of Cedar Rapids; her son, Kenneth Vine of Waterloo; and her 3 grandchildren, Krystal, Heather and Jared.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ardell; her second husband, Maurice; her sister, Darlene Haugen; and her stillborn daughter, Patricia Ann.

Jeannine was born on October 4, 1935 in Decorah, daughter of John and Edrie Andersen Fretheim and attended Decorah High School. She married Ardell Vine in January 1953, he died in 1973. On November 24, 1975 she married Maurice Chevalier in Miami, OK; he died in 1999. Jeannine worked at Quaker Oats for 26 years, retiring in 1998. She also ran the Hamburg Inn, Cedar Rapids for 25+ years.

Jeannine enjoyed garage sales and bike rides. She had a green thumb, and the best garden in her neighborhood. Jeannine will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
