Henry Johnston, retired farmer, died at his home in Ely at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday. He was born June 6, 1857, at Drumlough, Hillsborough county, Ireland, and came to this country 53 years ago and had been a resident of Ely for 16 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert of Ely, and two nephews, Henry Johnston of Marion and Sam Johnston of Morning Sun, and one sister, Ellen Johnston Moorhead in Ireland.
Mr. Johnston was a member of the Ely Lutheran church and of the Modern Woodman.
Funeral services will be held in the St. John's Lutheran church at Ely at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. John J. Gent will officiate and burial will be in Linwood cemetery.
