George Alexander Anderson, 90, of 901 Twenty-seventh street NE, a Cedar Rapids resident 58 years, died Sunday following a brief illness.
Born May 2, 1874, in Kansas, he came to the Cedar Rapids area as an infant and had lived here practically his entire life. He was manager of the W.G. Block Co. in Marion and Cedar Rapids for many years, later working for Wilson & Co. until his retirement. His wife, Anna, died in 1947.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harold Mahnke, with whom he lived; three grandchildren; a sister, Bessie Leech of Rockton, Ill., and a brother, W.E. Anderson of Cedar Rapids.
Memorial services: Turner chapel at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. A.T. Washington of Sharon E.U.B. church. Burial: Oak Shade cemetery, Marion. Friends may call at the chapel until 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The casket will not be opened after the service.
