PRAIRIEBURG--Edward H. Crosby, 14, Prairieburg, was killed and eight persons injured last Sunday afternoon in an automobile collision at the intersection about one-half mile west of Prairieburg.

Crosby was riding in a car driven by Bernard Holub, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe M. Holub, Prairieburg, and the other, a sedan, was driven by Stanley Holub, 20, living northwest of Prairieburg. Two cars met on the intersection and were both badly damaged in front.

All occupants of both cars were injured. Those riding with Bernard Holub, who suffered serious head injury and shock himself, were: Milton Holub, 15, head cuts; Ralph Morris, 16, left hand cut; Jack Morris, 11, face scratches. All are from Prairieburg.

Injured persons in the car driven by Stanley Holub were: Mrs. Helen Holub, 55, two ribs broken and a collarbone fractured; Arthur Holub, 33, Springville, forehead cut; Mrs. Louise Holub, 31, broken left leg; Stanley Holub, 20, head and leg bruises.

Dr. R. E. Munden, Linn county coroner, following investigation, declared the death accidental and said that no inquest would be held. Boy suffered skull and neck factures.

Edward Crosby's body was taken to the Loder Funeral home, Anamosa. Youth was born March 31, 1926, at Prairieburg, where he lived all his life.

He was a sophomore in the Coggon High school.

Funeral was held Wednesday at the Prairieburg Union church with the Rev. J. K. Delahooke, Anamosa, officiating. Burial took place in the Prairieburg cemetery.

Survivors are: his mother, Mrs. Jennie DeLancey, Prairieburg; three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Nightingale, Central City; Mrs. Lura Waters, Chicago, and Mary Crosby, Prairieburg; and two brothers, Roy and Robert, both of Coggon.
