Thomas R. Alexander, 90, retired druggist, died Sunday at 5:22 p.m. in a Cedar Rapids hospital. Mr. Alexander suffered a fractured hip about 10 days ago in a fall at his home, 380 Eleventh street. Born Oct. 6, 1851, near Franklin. Ind,, the son of Steven and Jane Luyster Alexander, he received his education at Franklin and worked there for several years as a druggist's apprentice. He entered the drug business in Marion in 1880 and retired in 1923. Mrs. Alexander, the former Ella List, whom he married at Franklin, died March 3, 1936.
Mr. Alexander was a member of the Presbyterian church. A daughter, Miss Mabel Alexander of Detroit, Mich,. survives. A son, Albert died in infancy.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Yocom chapel. Friends may call at the chapel until 1 p.m. Tuesday, after which the casket will be closed. Burial will be in the family lot in Oak Shade cemetery.
