Ruth June McQuown (1941-2020)

Ruth June McQuown, 79,
of Springville, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2020, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A private funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Juhl. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Ruth, under "photos and videos or media," starting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow the service at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Ruth was born May 12, 1941, in Addison, N.Y., the daughter of William and Edith (Rice) Sullivan. On June 14, 1963, Ruth was united in marriage to Paul F. McQuown in Hamilton, Mont. She worked in a greenhouse in Colorado for several years. Ruth was a housekeeper for St. John's Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Iowa, where she was a member. She enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles. Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ruth is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Paul McQuown; two sons, Allen McQuown of Springville and Eric (Melissa) McQuown of Marion; two daughters, Paula McQuown of Springville and Peggy (Andy) Burnett of Lisbon, Iowa; three grandchildren, Brandon, Dustin and Brittney (Alex) Burnett; four great-grandchildren, Andrea, Addison, Aleeya and Ashton; four brothers, William "Junior" (Barb) Sullivan, Frank (Nancy) Sullivan, Raymond (Valerie) Sullivan, all of Addison, N.Y., and Charlie (Emily) Sullivan of Cameron, N.Y.; and two sisters, Margaret Wright and Alice Sullivan, both of Addison, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith Sullivan; four brothers, Leon, Bobby, Richard and Clarence "Shorty" Sullivan; one sister, Esther; and one grandson, Jamie Burnett.
