Fred J. Bebee, 84, retired farmer, died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. E. Zimmer, in Marion, after a three weeks' illness.

He was born Aug. 14, 1859 in DeKalb county, Ill., and came to Prairieburg with his parents when he was six years old. He lived there and at Anamosa until he moved to Marion 43 years ago. He retired in 1937.

He was married Oct. 11, 1883, to Margaret J. Kline, who died in Marion in July, 1941.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Zimmer, Mrs. C. W. Case, Marion, a son, N. W. Bebee, Robins; seven brothers, Frank, Waterloo; George, Prairieburg; Walter, Anamosa; Thad, Cataract, Wis.; Edward, Mt. Vernon; Sidney, Marion and Harry, Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Service was held Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Yocum chapel in Marion. Rev. C. V. R. DeJong officiated. Burial was at the Prairieburg cemetery.
