Tiffani Vella Lyn Schneekloth of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Dec. 8, 2020, at the age of 28, in her home after her courageous battle with a long illness. She was at peace, with people who loved her by her side. Her contagious smile, big beautiful eyes, kindness, spunkiness, and her love for animals and people will never be forgotten. A visitation will be held from
4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 520 Wilson Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids. As mandated by proclamation, face coverings must be used along with social distancing practiced. Due to COVID-19, 15 people will be allowed in the funeral home at a time. A private funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website tribute page for Tiffani, under "photos and videos or media," starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12.
Tiffani was born Sept. 3, 1992, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was adopted by her parents L.J. and Holli Schneekloth on July 15, 2004. Her official "Gotcha Day" was Oct. 31, 2003. She graduated from Iowa Valley High School in 2009. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College with an associate of applied science degree in medical assisting in 2012. Tiffani met "her person" and best friend Dustin Hansen in April 2016, they locked eyes and the rest was history. Tiffani's furbabies were her kitties, Pumpkin and Lucky; her guinea pig, Miss Obama; her faithful German Shepherd, Mya; and the family dog, Sofie (Tif snuck her into the house under her shirt 12 years ago).
Surviving are her brothers, Spencer Hansen, Riley Hansen, Talon Schneekloth (Maz Helgens), Xander Schneekloth (Jade Gray) and Nathan Merryman (Sabrina Gypin); her sister, Allisin Merryman, all of Cedar Rapids. The joys of her life were her niece, Addisin; and nephews, Ezeriah, Ezekial and Manny. She would share pictures and tell stories about all of them to anyone who would listen. Also surviving are her Godparents, Jose and Carrey Garza, Marengo; her aunts Tami (Tim) Rathje, Newhall, Jennie (Doug) Schlader, Urbana, Tara Carrera-Bauer (Josh Carrera), Cedar Rapids, Joy Leonard, Ohio, and Melissa Bauer, Marion; her uncles, John Curry, Cedar Rapids, Mike (Lorrainne) Curry, Marengo, Matthew (Candee) Bauer, Independence, and Christopher (Robyn) Bauer, Marion; her grandparents, Carol Curry, Cedar Rapids, Larry "Snick" Schneekloth (Ruby Carolan), Shellsburg, and Lyal and Nancy Bauer, Marion; great-grandma, Joan Tonn, Independence; and many loving cousins, great-aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her "Grumpa" Ken Curry, Grandma "Pat-Pat" Patricia Schneekloth, and her uncle, Tracey Koopman.
Tiffani's one addiction was Starbucks coffee, "grande-iced-vanilla-latte-2-pumps-of-vanilla-extra-ice-in-a-venti cup." The baristas knew her order by heart and had her name, Tiffani with an "i," written on her cup without even asking. Shopping was her hobby (aka retail therapy). She loved a good deal and sharing coupons with family and friends. She enjoyed watching Harry Potter (Gryffindor forever!) and Disney movies. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. There wasn't a family trip where we didn't lose Tif at least once because she found an animal to love on and pet.
Special thank you to Carissa Wemmie at University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics and Rachel Fry of Serene Hospice Care of Iowa City for their compassion and support.
In lieu of flowers, drink a coffee, find a great deal, take care of your pets and love your family.
